Job summary

NZ Sugar is seeking a motivated, hands-on packaging operator to join our Chelsea site on a full-time basis. You’ll operate packaging filling machines, ensuring product quality, presentability and machine reliability across a range of pack sizes.

Training is provided to support your growth, with safety and teamwork at the core. The role may be on a single shift, 2-shift rotating or 3-shift rotating schedule, and requires physical fitness to handle up to 25kg.

Qualifications

• Experience operating packaging filling machines in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain accurate records.
• Demonstrates reliability, punctuality and a proactive, safety-focused mindset.
• Comfort with repetitive physical tasks and lifting up to 25kg.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging filling machines across 500g–25kg pack sizes.
• Maintain product quality, presentability and machine reliability.
• Follow safety procedures and collaborate with the team.

Operating packaging filling machines which pack a wide range of pack sizes (500g - 25kg), you'll directly contribute to the success of our retail and industrial businesses through ensuring product quality, presentability and machine reliability are held to the highest standards.

• Is dependable and punctual
• Enjoys hands-on work and is comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks (training and support will be provided to ensure safety and success)
• Has mechanical ability and/or understanding
• Values teamwork and fosters collaboration
• Approaches challenges with logical thinking and effective problem-solving
• Prioritizes safety and quality in their work
• Is eligible to work in New Zealand immediately

Physical fitness is beneficial for this role, including the ability to handle items up to 25kg.
