Job summary

Dimond Structural in Christchurch is seeking a Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will operate various machines on the Afternoon shift 1PM – 8PM, Monday to Friday, with training and sign‑off to meet customer specs and production targets.

We value safety, accuracy, and teamwork. You will record materials, enter data, and complete quality control forms while maintaining a high service standard. Lifting 25 kg is required; a gantry/forklift license is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanically minded with experience in or willingness to work in manufacturing.
• Attention to detail; record materials, data, and complete quality control forms.
• Safety conscious; work to high safety standards in a production environment.
• Good spoken and written communication; basic mathematics.
• Team leader experience is advantageous.
• Able to lift 25 kg.
• Gantry/forklift license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines safely to produce products meeting customer specs and services.
• Aim to achieve daily/weekly/monthly production targets.
• Work in a busy environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

Dimond Structural manufactures steel purlin and composite flooring products for the construction industry. All our products are manufactured in New Zealand to the highest of standards.

We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our talented team in Christchurch. You will join a small, close knit team, working on our Afternoon shift 1PM – 8PM, Monday to Friday. This role is responsible for operating various machines that you will be trained and signed off on to produce products to meet the customer specs & services for Dimond Structural. It is essential that the position holder works with all business teams/members to maintain a high service culture. This will support our focus on delivering our service commitment to our customers and achieving our Production targets

About you:

• You will be a mechanically minded person who has experience in or wants to work in our manufacturing environment
• Show a high attention to detail as you will be recording materials and ensuring accuracy, entering data and filling in quality control forms
• You display that you are safety conscious, as you know working in a production environment means you need to work to high safety standards
• Have a good standard of both spoken and written communication is also required as well as basic mathematics
• Team leader experience advantageous
• Be comfortable with lifting 25kgs
• Gantry/forklift license is preferred but not necessary
