Job summary

Firth Industries in Auckland is seeking an entry-level Masonry Machine Operator to produce masonry blocks in line with specifications and production schedules.

You will work a rotating day and night shift, with day shift 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM (may extend to 12 hours; Saturday mornings possible) and night shift 2:00 PM to Midnight (may extend to 12 hours). Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Excellent and clear communication skills to facilitate effective discussions within the team.
• A mechanically minded background, preferably with experience in manufacturing.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn the basics of machine production, as well as other onsite processes over time, including block machine and loader operations.
• A forklift license, which is an added advantage.
• A high level of health and safety awareness to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and those around you.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an entry-level Machine Operator.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing masonry blocks according to specifications while maintaining consistent quality in line with the plant’s production schedule.

Shift Details

It is important to note that this position involves a rotating shift schedule.

• You will work one week on the day shift and the following week on the night shift.
• Day Shift: 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM (may extend to 12 hours and may include Saturday morning work)
• Night Shift: 2:00 PM to Midnight (may extend to 12 hours)

Flexibility in finishing hours is required as both day and night shifts can be extended to 12 hours based on business needs. Please apply only if you are comfortable with this rolling shift schedule, as it is a significant aspect of this role.
