Job summary

Kings High School Dunedin is seeking a committed specialist literacy teacher to deliver targeted literacy support with a two-hour weekly contact time. The role totals five hours per week, including planning, assessment and reporting, and runs as a fixed-term contract funded to September 2027.

The successful applicant will have a strong evidence-based literacy background, with a good understanding of Te ao Māori and Te reo Māori being advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Must be a certificated teacher with current practising certificate.
  • Strong background in evidence-based literacy instruction.
  • Good communication with students, staff and whānau.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted literacy support for students (2 hours contact time weekly).
  • Total role is 5 hours per week with planning, assessment and reporting time.
  • Fixed-term contract funded through to September 2027.
  • Attend and contribute to literacy initiatives across the faculty.
