Job summary

Auckland Council’s Pools and Leisure team is seeking a Pool Lifeguard – Team Member on a permanent part-time basis, 32 hours per week at Lloyd Elsmore Park Pool and Leisure Centre.

You will monitor pool areas, respond to incidents, provide friendly customer service, and help keep facilities clean and safe while supporting Learn-to-Swim and other leisure programmes. Training and development are provided to grow your skills and career.

Qualifications

• Pass the required pool lifeguard swim test.
• Current PLPC or willingness to complete training and certification.
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool areas and maintain a safe environment for customers.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies following safety procedures.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to help visitors enjoy their visit.
• Maintain clean, tidy facilities and ensure equipment is safe and ready to use.
• Support programmes, promote services and contribute to a positive team environment.
