Job summary

The University of Auckland—Hiwa Recreation Centre on Symonds Street in Auckland—is seeking a permanent Lifeguard to ensure pool safety and deliver excellent customer service in a world-class aquatic facility.

We offer a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours/week) with a salary range of NZD 55,634 to NZD 60,000 per annum. Training is provided for the right candidate, with a strong focus on public safety and inclusive service for students and the wider community.

Qualifications

• Current lifeguard qualification is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate and/or a First Aid Certificate would be a definite bonus.

Responsibilities

• General lifeguard duties, including pool supervision.
• Providing exceptional customer service.
• Pool water testing and monitoring.
• Ensuring pool safety and H&S standards are met.
