Job summary

Central Otago District Council’s Roxburgh Pool is hiring enthusiastic pool crew for the upcoming summer season. This full-time role supports lifeguarding, pool safety, and a welcoming environment for the local community.

You’ll work a Monday to Sunday roster with training provided; no prior lifeguard experience is required, but you must be able to swim 200m in under 6 minutes. A supportive team and growth opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• Ability to swim 200m in under 6 minutes (required for lifeguard roles)
• No prior lifeguard experience necessary - full training provided
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Lifeguarding and pool supervision to ensure patron safety at all times
• Monitoring water quality and reporting any safety concerns
• Assisting patrons and maintaining a clean, welcoming poolside environment
• Supporting opening and closing procedures
• Responding to incidents in line with safety protocols
• Reporting to the Aquatics Supervisor and working closely with the wider pool crew
