Our pool and leisure facilities are more popular than ever, and as Lead Lifeguard, for our Birkenhead Pool and Leisure Centre, you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience but a safe one.

This permanent part-time role offers 28 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 40 hours during school holidays and the summer period. As Birkenhead is an outdoor pool, you'll spend a significant part of your role working outdoors in the sun. The roster may suit someone balancing remote study or other work commitments, provided they can work the advertised shifts. As our centre is open seven days a week, the ability to work early and late shifts, as well as weekends, is crucial.
You’ll have a passion for aquatics and enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues to improve water safety. You will be an excellent communicator and committed to delivering exceptional aquatic programmes and providing a high level of customer satisfaction. Joining an energetic and passionate team, you’ll be a keen team player with a flexible approach and be able to take the initiative to help drive a positive safety culture.
We are looking for people who are strong swimmers, dedicated to helping others. To work as a pool, lead lifeguard in New Zealand, you will need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC).

Salary rate: 30.92/hr.
