Qualifikationen

• Certified NZ teacher with current Practising Certificate.

• Experience in secondary or kura education is preferred.

Te Kāreti o Mana is seeking an inspiring, collaborative, and forward-thinking educator with proven experience to lead the Mathematics Learning Area.

key responsibilities

Strategic leadership

• Develop, implement and evaluate a Mathematics strategy focused on accelerating ākonga progress and improving achievement in Mathematics and numeracy.
• Use achievement data and evidence-informed practice to identify learning needs, establish improvement priorities and monitor the impact of teaching initiatives.

Curriculum, Teaching and Assessment

• Lead coherent curriculum planning and effective assessment practices, ensuring assessment informs teaching and supports learner progress
• Promote culturally responsive pedagogies to strengthen relationships, engagement and achievement for all ākonga.
• Lead the development of consistent, high-quality teaching and assessment practices across the Learning Area.

Collaborative and relational leadership

• Build strong professional relationships and lead kaiako in professional learning and the implementation of effective teaching practices.
• Work closely with the Numeracy Lead to align priorities and ensure the effective implementation of initiatives to strengthen numeracy across Mathematics and the wider curriculum.
• Build collective responsibility for improving learner progress, achievement and equitable outcomes for all ākonga.

Applicants will hold a full Aotearoa New Zealand Practising Certificate.
