Job summary

New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) seeks a Lead System Engineer to architect and optimise the PMC's infrastructure, supporting the SIEM analysis platform and scalable data processing for advanced breach detection.

You will drive R&D and partner with multiple intelligence disciplines, delivering robust, high-availability systems while ensuring compliance with security requirements and national priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading system engineering for critical national infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Windows and Unix environments.
• Proficient in designing scalable, high-availability infrastructure for security analytics.

Responsibilities

• Service Delivery & Strategy – lead the planning, prioritisation and management of critical system services.
• Risk Management – design and implement robust systems risk mitigation strategies and technical guidance.
• Cross-Functional Enablement – act as the primary technical bridge across multiple intelligence disciplines.
• Specialised Tooling – deliver highly compartmented insider threat investigation tools for NZIC and partner government agencies.
