Job Description

Kirimana have an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a background in Construction and Infrastructure.

The Opportunity

Kirimana has been engaged by an established New Zealand construction company to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a permanent position within their team.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of significant construction and infrastructure projects, managing delivery from contract award through to completion. The successful Project Manager will bring together programme, commercial performance, quality, people and client relationships to deliver successful and profitable project outcomes.

Experience across commercial construction is important, while exposure to civil or water infrastructure including water, wastewater and stormwater would be particularly valuable as the sector continues to develop.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Project Manager who understands that successful delivery isn’t only about completing a project. You’ll need strong commercial awareness and the ability to protect margin, manage cashflow, control costs and make sound decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Lead project planning, construction programmes and delivery while coordinating site teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
  • Take ownership of project financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, cashflow, cost control, payment claims and variations
  • Manage procurement and subcontractor performance with a strong understanding of contractual and commercial obligations
  • Maintain strong quality assurance, project documentation and reporting while identifying risks and resolving issues early
  • Build effective client and consultant relationships while leading the project team towards successful and profitable outcomes

Ideally, you’ll have proven Project Management experience within commercial construction or infrastructure, supported by relevant construction or engineering qualifications and a strong track record of delivering projects successfully.

Experience within civil, water, wastewater, stormwater or other infrastructure environments would be highly regarded, but isn’t essential if you have strong transferable construction experience.

What’s In It For You?

This is a permanent opportunity to join an established New Zealand construction business with the chance to take genuine ownership of significant projects.

  • Competitive salary package reflecting your experience and capability
  • Permanent, full-time employment directly with our client
  • Responsibility for significant and challenging construction projects
  • Opportunity to broaden your experience across construction and infrastructure
  • Long-term career development with an established New Zealand construction company
