Job summary

Visy Glass is seeking a Process Engineer for its Penrose, Auckland site. This full-time role operates on a 12-hour rotating roster (2 days/2 nights, 4 days off) and is mainly a sole-charge position with significant responsibility in batching and furnace operations.

You’ll manage breakdowns, perform fault diagnostics, and adapt to multiple control systems. The role requires a minimum 4 years’ experience in manufacturing, with a strong focus on health, safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ post-trade experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities under pressure.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting.
• Commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
• Willing to overtime shifts & callouts as part of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Operate all stages of the batching and furnace processes.
• Monitor furnaces and maintain housekeeping around furnaces.
• Respond to breakdowns after hours and on weekends.
• Support colour change activities and perform night-shift colour checks.
• Communicate with internal support and external agencies when needed.
• Uphold Visy’s health and safety policies at all times.
