Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to join our security testing team in Queenstown, New Zealand. You will simulate cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities in networks, applications and systems, and report actionable remediation guidance to strengthen defenses.

Bring 3+ years of ethical hacking experience, familiarity with Metasploit, Burp Suite and Nmap, and a degree in cybersecurity or related field.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of penetration testing or ethical hacking experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap.
• Strong understanding of networks, operating systems, and web app security.
• Experience in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or GPEN are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration testing on networks, applications, and systems using various methodologies.
• Identify, analyze, and document security vulnerabilities and their potential impact.
• Develop clear and actionable reports detailing findings and remediation recommendations.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and security scans as part of a comprehensive security program.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest hacking techniques, tools, and trends.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to facilitate remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality throughout all testing activities.
