Placements24 is seeking a diligent Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its operations team in Queenstown. You will plan, execute, and oversee maintenance of industrial machinery to ensure reliability and uptime.

The role requires a degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in industrial maintenance, and strong skills in troubleshooting, reading drawings, and maintenance planning. Leadership and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, industrial setting preferred.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong maintenance planning and execution capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform timely repairs.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for mechanical components.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors safely and efficiently.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
