Hutt City Council's Stokes Valley Pool is seeking a confident Shift Supervisor to oversee poolside operations, lead Lifeguards, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for our community.

You will manage day-to-day activities during your shift, monitor water quality, and coordinate maintenance while prioritising safety, customer service and teamwork. This hands-on role suits those ready to step up from lifeguard experience or with leadership in aquatic settings.

Qualifications

• Current Pool Lifeguard Competency Certificate is required.
• Current First Aid Certificate is required.
• Experience in an aquatic facility is preferred.
• Customer service and team leadership experience required.
• Confidence using computers and systems is required.
• Having a Swimming Pool Water Treatment Certificate and prior leadership in an aquatic facility would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Lead Lifeguards during your shift and maintain a calm, safe poolside environment.
• Coordinate day-to-day pool operations and resolve issues effectively.
• Monitor water quality and perform regular plant and equipment checks.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing for staff and patrons.
• Escalate issues and communicate with the public as needed.
• Support preventative and reactive facility maintenance.
