Job summary

Kiwibank is looking for a collaborative Lead Engineer, Integrations & Vendor Delivery to steer complex integration programs across Wellington or Auckland. You will align vendors and internal teams to deliver resilient platform integrations that support customer experiences and frontline operations.

The role centers on technical direction, delivery assurance and architectural governance, with emphasis on API/system integrations, design reviews, and clear ownership of decisions and risks.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing engineering delivery across internal teams and external vendors.
• Strong grounding in enterprise platforms and cloud architectures.
• Proven experience with API and system integrations.
• Ability to review vendor designs against architectural principles.
• Ensure consistent engineering practices across teams (design reviews, testing, security, CI/CD).
• Document decisions, rationale, and risks with clear owners.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with stakeholders.
• Turn ambiguous requirements into clear technical scope.
• Experience guiding remote/distributed teams and cross-time-zone collaboration.
• Knowledge of production support and service management for vendor solutions.

Responsibilities
