Komatsu New Zealand is seeking an experienced Leading Hand – Service for the Greymouth team. The role balances hands-on work with leadership duties, supervising five mechanics and coordinating workshop and field service across the West Coast.

You will spend ~60% of your time with the team and ~40% on planning, coordination and leadership, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery of service for mining, quarry and agricultural equipment.

Qualifikationen

• Trade-qualified Heavy Equipment/Automotive Diesel technician.
• Experience in leading hands or supervisory roles.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with heavy mobile equipment; mining/quarry/agriculture background preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Aufgaben

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership to a team of five mechanics.
• Hands-on repairs, diagnostics, servicing and maintenance.
• Coordinate workshop and field service work, planning and scheduling.
• Manage WIP and close jobs; liaise with customers.
• Support parts ordering and ensure resources availability.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and apprentices.
• Promote safe work practices and quality standards.
