Job summary

Gallagher Animal Management is seeking a Lead Engineer – Embedded Software to steer the technical direction of our embedded platform and guard product integrity across firmware, connectivity and device software.

You will lead a talented team of engineers, establish standards and architectural vision, and work closely with Product Managers, Hardware, and Cloud teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions for farmers worldwide.

Qualifications

Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
Extensive experience developing embedded software for commercial products.
Strong expertise in C/C++, RTOS, embedded Linux or similar platforms.
Experience designing scalable embedded software architecture.
Proven experience leading or mentoring software engineering teams.
Experience working within Agile product development environments.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

Leading the architecture and technical direction of embedded software platforms for core products and solutions.
Providing hands-on technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews and problem solving.
Coaching and developing embedded software engineers.
Driving engineering excellence, quality and continuous improvement.
Influencing technology strategy across multiple product programmes.
Collaborating across software, hardware and product teams to deliver connected devices.
