Role Description

The Lead Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Auckland, responsible for supervising and performing electrical installations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Day-to-day tasks include leading a team of electricians, planning and executing electrical work, diagnosing and troubleshooting system faults, and ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and safety standards. The role involves coordinating with project managers and clients, preparing work schedules, documenting completed work, and advising on improvements or upgrades to electrical systems. The Lead Electrician will also mentor junior team members, uphold safety practices, and contribute to continuous process improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in electricity principles and practical electrical work, with experience in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
• Proficiency in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Understanding of electrical engineering concepts relevant to system design, load calculations, and compliance with standards.
• Valid electrician registration or license in New Zealand and thorough knowledge of local electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams, coordinating projects, and managing workloads on-site.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safe work practices.
• Full, clean driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites within the Auckland region.
