Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Section Leader Cytogenomics in Auckland. You will lead cytogenetics and chromosomal microarray services, ensuring accurate, timely, clinically meaningful results across prenatal, postnatal and acquired testing.

Responsibilities include providing technical leadership, maintaining ISO 15189 accreditation, quality control, audits, and shaping method development and service improvement while guiding a skilled Cytogenomics team.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Medical Laboratory Science and NZ practitioner registration.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Cytogenomics section and ensure accurate, timely results across prenatal, postnatal and acquired testing.
• Maintain ISO 15189 accreditation and oversee QA, documentation and audit trails.
• Coordinate workload and resources, support staff development and competency.
• Drive service improvement, method development and validation in a high-quality diagnostic lab.
