Auckland City Hospital is seeking a Genetic Pathologist / Clinical Scientist / Fellow in Diagnostic Genetics to join our expanding team. You will work across germline and somatic genomics, contribute to teaching, supervision, and research, and help drive service development in a leading genomics program.

The role requires a medical doctor with postgraduate pathology qualifications and eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Pathologist.

• Full time permanent role (1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week)

About the Role

We welcome applications from Genetic Pathologists, Clinical Scientists (Genomics) and newly qualified Fellows to join our expanding Diagnostic Genetics team. As the largest hospital-based genomics service in Aotearoa New Zealand, we are building capacity across germline and somatic genomics, and offer multiple pathways for applicants at different stages of practice. The preferred candidate will be highly motivated, innovative, adaptable and responsive to the changing demands and opportunities in genomics. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The overall aim of this role is to enhance health outcomes for people in a Hospital in the North Island through clinical and laboratory practice, teaching, supervision, research, service and leadership.

About you

Genetic Pathologist

You will need to be a medical doctor with post-graduate specialist qualification in Pathology and eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand as a Pathologist to apply for this role.
