Job summary

LegalVision seeks a versatile dispute resolution lawyer to join as Practice Leader in New Zealand, guiding a broad range of commercial disputes. The role is fully remote with NZ-based offices for occasional in-person events and hybrid options in Christchurch.

You will manage complex matters, mentor juniors, and contribute to thought leadership. You will bring 8+ years of NZ PQE, strategic client advisory skills, and a track record in large litigation, with a strong emphasis on practical business

Qualifications

• NZ-qualified lawyer with 8+ PQE and experience in commercial dispute resolution.
• Ability to advise on strategic, practical business outcomes.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Full NZ work rights.
• Experience guiding junior lawyers.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, advocacy and matter management.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of litigious and pre-litigation matters from inception to resolution.
• Build trusted-advisor relationships to influence business decisions.
• Run large, complex commercial litigation.
• Grow the practice by cross-selling and attracting new clients.
• Mentor junior lawyers and lead internal training.
• Share expertise via articles and webinars.
