Job summary

Possum Bourne Retirement Village in Pukekohe is seeking a Lead Chef to lead a kitchen delivering nutritious, high quality meals to our residents.

This is a part-time role, Fridays and Saturdays 0800–1700, with weekend hours paid an extra $2.50 per hour.

You will manage the kitchen team, ensure food hygiene and presentation, and contribute to the Ryman Food Experience, supporting our caring culture. Be part of a supportive management team and progress through a trusted retirement-care employer.

Qualifications

• Extensive Head Chef experience leading a kitchen and team.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Hold the London City & Guilds or NZQA 75/1, 75/2, 75/3 or NZ Certificate in Cookery Level 4 as a minimum.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to ensure nutritious, high quality meals for residents.
• Prepare specialty food for functions and fine dining.
• Adhere to all practices relating to food hygiene, preparation, storage and disposal.
• Work closely with, and support your team and colleagues.
