Job summary

Kerikeri Retirement Village is seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. This role focuses on preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and delivering meals that meet dietary and food safety standards.

You will manage daily kitchen operations, plan menus, control stock, and ensure meals are presented well and served promptly, while guiding kitchen staff and upholding a safe, clean kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Ability to plan menus and manage stock.
• Strong food safety knowledge and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents.
• Plan and deliver menus in line with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Manage daily kitchen operations and food production.
• Ensure food is presented to a high standard and served on time.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
• Support and guide kitchen team members as required.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and health & safety requirements.
• Contribute to creating a positive dining experience for residents.
