Job summary

Ryman Healthcare is recruiting a Lead Chef at Charles Upham Retirement Village in Rangiora. This full-time role (32 hours, Mon-Thu 0800-1700) leads a kitchen team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals for residents with a focus on wellbeing and cultural diversity.

Ideal candidates have extensive Head Chef experience and hold NZQA 75/1-3 or NZ Certificate in Cookery Level 4, with a reliable, professional approach and strong hygiene practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive Head Chef experience with team leadership and kitchen operations.
• Minimum NZQA 75/1, 75/2, 75/3 or NZ Certificate in Cookery (Level 4).
• Reliable, friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to ensure nutritious, high quality, well prepared, well presented food for residents.
• Prepare specialty dishes for functions and fine dining.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our supportive team at Charles UphamRetirement Village in Rangiora (30 mins from Christchurch City) as a Lead Chef. This is aFull Timeposition working Monday - Thursday 0800-1700 (32 hours)

In this role you will:

• Lead a team to ensure nutritious, high quality, well prepared, well presented and enjoyable food is provided to our residents
• Prepare specialty food for functions and fine dining
• Adhere to all practices relating to food hygiene, preparation, storage and disposal
• Work closely with, and support your team and colleagues

About You

To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:

• Extensive experience as a Head Chef, leading a team and running a kitchen
• Hold the London City & Guilds or NZQA 75/1, 75/2, 75/3, or the New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 4) as a minimum
• A reliable, friendly and professional manner
