Job summary

Ryman Healthcare – Evelyn Page Retirement Village in Orewa, Auckland, is seeking an experienced sous chef for a casual position. You will lead kitchen operations, create dining experiences, and collaborate with the team to deliver meals that are nutritious and varied.

You will cover the Senior Lead Chef on days off, prepare seasonal menus, and accommodate residents' dietary needs while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 3) required.
• Proven experience as a chef, leading a team and running a kitchen.
• Reliable, friendly and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with kitchen team to create dining experiences.
• Provide coverage of Senior Lead Chef.
• Prepare meals from seasonal menus with variety and nutrition.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced sous Chef at Evelyn Page Retirement Village in Orewa, Auckland. This is a casual position

In this role you will:

• Collaborate with the kitchen team to create an exceptional dining experience that's 'good enough for mum'.
• Provide coverage of the Senior Lead Chef during their days off.
• Prepare delicious meals from our seasonal menus, rich in variety, flavour and nutrition.
• Cater to different residents' dietary needs.
• Assist with specialty food for fine diningexperiences and functions.
• Operate with health and safety as a key consideration at all times.
