Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago is seeking a Laundry Assistant in Alexandra to support Ranui and Castlewood facilities. The role involves washing, drying, sorting, folding and distributing laundry with a focus on hygiene and presentation.

Applicants with laundry experience are preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are welcomed. Orientation and training are provided as part of joining a supportive team in a caring environment.

The Role

Our Laundry team provides an essential service to residents across Ranui & Castlewood. As a Laundry Assistant, you'll play an important role in enhancing the wellbeing of our residents by ensuring their clothing and linen are clean, fresh, and returned with care. You will be responsible for washing, drying, sorting, folding, and distributing resident and facility laundry while maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.

Previous laundry experience in a commercial or residential setting is preferred. However, we welcome applicants with a positive attitude and willingness to learn, as full orientation and training will be provided.

Hours: Permanent, part-time; 42 hours per fortnight

• Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, 8.30 am to 3.00 pm (6 hours per day)
• Week Two: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8.30 am to 3.00 pm (6 hours per day)
