Patersons in Wanaka seeks a Land Development Delivery Lead to oversee subdivision, infrastructure and large-scale projects across Central Otago’s growth areas.
You will coordinate survey, planning, engineering and construction inputs, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery while maintaining quality and strong client relationships. A hands-on leader with NZ development experience is preferred.
Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
Lead large-scale land development projects in one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing regions.
Some of the most significant land development and infrastructure work in New Zealand is happening across Queenstown Lakes, Wānaka and Central Otago.
Patersons is on an exciting growth journey. We have a full pipeline of work, and we need talented project leaders to help us deliver it.
Our projects span: growth-area infrastructure, major residential subdivisions, mixed-use developments, roading, earthworks, three waters, construction-phase delivery and completion works.
This is a practical delivery role, not project management alone. You will work closely with technical teams, clients, councils and contractors, keeping deliverables moving from early planning through to completion.
In this role, you will:
Manage the day-to-day delivery of subdivision, land development and infrastructure projects across key project phases.
Lead project teams, coordinating inputs from survey, planning, engineering, design, construction and specialist consultants.
Ensure projects are delivered to time, cost requirements and quality standards.
Work closely with developers, councils, contractors and internal technical teams.
Coordinating civil design inputs including earthworks, roading, stormwater, wastewater and water infrastructure.
Depending on your background, review technical documentation, drawings, specifications and reports.
Track consent conditions, council responses, engineering approvals and completion requirements.
Manage tender processes, contractor engagement and construction-phase coordination.
You will bring:
A design, technical or project delivery background in land development, infrastructure, surveying, engineering or construction.
A strong understanding of how projects move from early planning through design, approvals, construction and completion.
Confidence leading multi-disciplinary teams across locations.
Strength in building client relationships.
Clear communication with technical teams, councils and contractors.
Sound judgement about when to progress an issue and when to elevate it to our Job Directors.
Experience with 12d, civil design, NZS3910 contracts, council approvals, consent conditions or New Zealand land development processes would be an advantage.
You will work alongside experienced project leaders, surveyors, engineers and planners who are well respected and deeply connected to their local communities.
Patersons has a full pipeline of work in New Zealand’s major growth regions, and there are opportunities to develop your career to the highest level.
Our strength is the way our surveyors, engineers and planners work together across the full project lifecycle.
