Job summary

Golden Bay Cement, part of Fletcher Building, seeks an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead the Portland laboratory and drive quality, safety, and performance across manufacturing operations. You’ll manage a team of 6–10 professionals delivering testing, QA, and technical data to support safe, compliant cement production.

You’ll champion continuous improvement, maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and collaborate with operations and R&D to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a laboratory environment.
• Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 and quality systems.
• Experience with cement or minerals testing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6-10 laboratory professionals for testing and QA.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of testing across materials.
• Maintain accreditation, calibration, and data integrity.
• Partner with operations to improve product quality and process performance.
