Firth Industries is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead QA and testing operations across the Lower North Island. You will guide laboratory teams, oversee testing programmes, ensure products meet customer requirements, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with operations, engineers, technicians and customers.

As one of the country's leading suppliers of ready-mix concrete, masonry products and premix solutions, we're looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our quality assurance and testing operations across the Lower North Island.

About the Role

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about quality, technical excellence and developing high‑performing teams. As Laboratory Manager, you'll lead laboratory and quality assurance activities across the region, ensuring our products consistently meet customer requirements, industry standards and Firth's quality expectations. You'll work closely with operational teams, engineers, technicians and customers, providing technical expertise, supporting product performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role combines people leadership, technical oversight and customer engagement. You'll manage a team of technicians, oversee testing programmes and quality systems, support major customer projects and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure Firth continues to deliver industry‑leading products and service. This role would suit someone with a strong background in construction materials, concrete technology, quality assurance or laboratory management who enjoys balancing technical problem‑solving with team leadership.
