Job summary

BayCare Health System in Dunedin, FL is seeking a full-time Phlebotomy Technician to collect, process and handle specimens across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will coordinate with nursing staff and physicians, perform phlebotomy, and refer specimens as needed within a dynamic hospital environment.

Required is at least 6 months in phlebotomy or a related lab field, with a high school diploma or equivalent; a related bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• 6 months phlebotomy or laboratory-related experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent; or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories as needed.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
