Job summary

Ayrburn Precinct – Arrowtown, South Island is expanding its hospitality team and inviting applications for Kitchen Hands to support our multiple-venue operation. You will contribute to food preparation and dishwashing while embracing a hands-on role in a busy commercial kitchen.

No formal qualifications or prior experience are required; full training will be provided, with 30+ hours per week, night and weekend shifts, and staff meals and discounts on food and beverage as part of the benefits

Responsibilities

• Food preparation in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Part of the production line of a commercial kitchen.
• Cleaning kitchens, dishes, food preparation areas and sculleries.
• Cleaning cooking and general utensils used in kitchens and restaurants.
• Support the team during service periods and maintain high hygiene standards.
• This role requires availability for nights and weekends, with 30+ hours per week.

Join our exciting venture as we continue to establish Ayrburn, a multi-venue hospitality destination located in the heart of the growing Arrowtown and Lake Hayes basin. Heritage farm buildings have been reimagined into restaurants, bars, providores, and activities. We need kitchen hands to work within our kitchens and be part of a seamless experience for our guests, visitors and fellow teammates.

Tasks include:

Food preparation

Part of the production line of a commercial kitchen

Cleaning kitchens, dishes, food preparation areas and sculleries

Cleaning cooking and general utensils used in kitchens and restaurants

About you:

You will be passionate about cleanliness and hygiene of a commercial kitchen

Understand the importance of following policies & procedures

Have a high attention to detail

Experience in food handling practices and stock take is an advantage

You are hands on & love to get your hands dirty

With a competitive hourly rate, staff meals when on shift, discounts on food and beverage, Ayrburn offers many attractive benefits to our team members.

As a 7 day a week precinct, you will need to be available to work nights and weekends. With 30+ hours / week, full training and career progression encouraged these roles will take a high level of commitment and drive. The wage range for this role is $24.00 - $29.00 depending on experience.You do not need to have any qualifications or experience to apply for this role. Training will be provided to all team members.
