You’ll manage projects end-to-end from concept through to installation, presenting concepts, developing drawings and quotations, and conducting site
At Hacker Kitchens NZ, we believe a kitchen should be more than a collection of cabinets — it should be thoughtfully designed around the way our clients live.
We are a 100% Kiwi-owned kitchen design studio, based in Rosedale, Auckland, specialising in premium German kitchens and considered interior solutions. Since establishing the business in 2017, we have built our reputation on exceptional design, quality craftsmanship and a genuinely personalised client experience.
We are growing, and we are looking for an experienced Kitchen Designer to join our team.
This is an opportunity to work on beautiful, high-end residential projects, with clients who value good design and quality. You’ll have the opportunity to take projects from the initial concept right through to installation and handover, while working closely with clients, builders, architects and interior designers.
This isn't a role where you simply draw kitchens from a brief.
You’ll have genuine involvement in the creative process, client relationship and development of each project. We encourage our designers to bring ideas to the table, challenge the ordinary and create kitchens that are both highly functional and beautifully considered.
You’ll be working with premium German cabinetry and innovative kitchen technology, alongside carefully selected stone, hardware, appliances and bespoke elements.
Our projects range from renovations and architectural new builds through to high-end homes, and we work with clients throughout New Zealand.
You’ll be joining an established business with an ambitious and entrepreneurial mindset, where your contribution genuinely matters.
As a Kitchen Designer, you will manage your own projects and clients from initial consultation through to completion.
Your role will include:
Meet with clients to understand their lifestyle, requirements, aesthetic and budget.
Develop creative, functional and highly considered kitchen designs.
Present design concepts, materials, finishes and product selections with confidence.
Prepare detailed drawings, quotations and project documentation.
Conduct site measures and final site checks.
Work with premium German cabinetry, innovative storage solutions and high-end materials.
Build strong relationships with clients and guide them confidently through the design and purchasing process.
Manage projects through ordering, production, installation and final handover.
Coordinate with builders, architects, designers, trades and installers.
Manage project details, changes and remedial requirements to ensure a seamless client experience.
Convert design consultations into successful projects.
Work towards individual sales targets and agreed KPIs.
Develop relationships with builders, developers, architects and interior designers.
Represent Hacker Kitchens NZ professionally at every stage of the client journey.
We are looking for an experienced designer who is confident both creatively and commercially.
You will ideally have:
5+ years' experience in kitchen design, preferably within the premium/high-end market.
Strong technical kitchen design and documentation skills.
Experience with Compusoft Winner, CAD or similar design software.
An excellent eye for proportion, materials, colour and detail.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
The ability to confidently manage clients and projects from concept to completion.
A commercial mindset and confidence in presenting and closing designs.
Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who loves design, takes pride in what they create and genuinely cares about delivering an exceptional client experience.
You’ll be joining a business that is continuing to grow and evolve, with the opportunity to have a real influence on how we work and where we go next.
You’ll have access to premium German products, innovative kitchen solutions and exciting residential projects, while working alongside a team that values quality, creativity and doing things properly.
If you are an experienced Kitchen Designer who is looking for more than just another design role, we would love to hear from you.
