Job summary

Millbrook Kitchens Ltd in Rangiora, Canterbury, is seeking a talented Kitchen Design & Sales Consultant to join our team. This full‑time role blends creative kitchen design with consultative sales, acting as the crucial link between clients' visions and our capabilities.

You will design layouts using Cabmaster, 20/20, SketchUp, AutoCAD or similar tools, present concepts, quote specifications, manage from consultation to handover, and build strong client relationships while staying current with

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in kitchen design, with a portfolio demonstrating completed projects.
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as Cabmaster, 20/20, SketchUp, AutoCAD or similar kitchen design programs.
  • Excellent sales and client communication skills with the ability to understand and translate client needs into design solutions.
  • Knowledge of kitchen materials, fixtures, appliances and industry standards.
  • Strong spatial awareness and the ability to create functional, aesthetically pleasing kitchen layouts.
  • A keen eye for detail, colour coordination and contemporary design trends.
  • Experience in project management and coordination with installation teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong mathematical and numerical skills for accurate measurements, specifications and quoting.
  • Professional presentation skills and the ability to inspire client confidence.
  • Experience in a showroom or customer-facing design environment is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in interior design or kitchen design would be advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Consulting with clients to understand kitchen design needs, budget and lifestyle requirements.
  • Creating detailed kitchen designs using industry-standard software and translating ideas into layouts
  • Presenting design concepts and specifications to clients, explaining materials and costs
  • Providing expert advice on kitchen trends, finishes and spatial planning
  • Managing the sales process from initial consultation to project handover
  • Preparing detailed quotes and specifications for kitchen projects
  • Liaising with project managers, suppliers and tradespeople to ensure on-time delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and new products in kitchen design
  • Collaborating with installation teams to ensure accuracy and quality

Millbrook Kitchens Ltd is seeking a talented Kitchen Design & Sales Consultant to join our team in Rangiora, Canterbury. This is a full-time position at 42.5 hours per week, that combines creative design expertise with consultative sales skills. In this role, you will be the crucial link between our clients' vision and our design capabilities, helping homeowners and businesses transform their kitchen spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. This position is integral to our business success, as you will directly influence customer satisfaction, project outcomes, and revenue generation.

What you'll be doing

Consulting with clients to understand their kitchen design needs, preferences, budget constraints and lifestyle requirements

Creating detailed kitchen designs using industry-standard design software, translating client ideas into practical and visually appealing layouts

Presenting design concepts and specifications to clients, clearly explaining design choices, materials and costs

Providing expert advice on kitchen trends, product options, colour schemes, finishes and spatial planning

Managing the sales process from initial consultation through to project completion and customer handover

Preparing detailed quotes and specifications for kitchen projects

Liaising with project managers, suppliers and tradespeople to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification

Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the design and installation process

Staying up to date with industry trends, new products and design innovations in kitchen design

What we're looking for
