Job summary

A.one Kitchens in Tauranga seeks a design-led, client-facing designer to take full ownership from initial consultation through to final documentation and handover. You will translate briefs into functional kitchen and cabinetry concepts, produce accurate drawings, present confidently, liaise with builders and suppliers, and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.

The role combines creativity with commercial awareness and requires experience in kitchen and cabinetry design; CAD skills

Qualifications

  • Experience in kitchen and cabinetry design.
  • 2 years kitchen or interior design experience is desirable.
  • Experience with CAD software (Winner, Cabinet Vision, SketchUp or similar) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and guide clients through their design journey.
  • Translate briefs into functional, beautiful kitchen and cabinetry concepts.
  • Produce accurate drawings and specifications.
  • Present confidently and professionally.
  • Liaise with builders, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.

The Opportunity

This is a client-facing, design-led role with full project ownership from initial consultation through to final documentation and project handover.

Working across both commercial fit-out projects and residential kitchen and cabinetry design, you will play a key role in transforming client requirements into functional, innovative, and well-executed joinery solutions.

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We are hiring for attitude and personality first.

You might be a strong fit if you:
  • Build rapport naturally and communicate with confidence
  • Have prior experiencein kitchen and cabinetry design
  • Experience working on residential projects, with exposure to commercial projects being advantageous
  • Have a strong eye for proportion, finishes and spatial flow
  • Take ownership and responsibility for your work
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Thrive in a team environment but can work independently
  • Are motivated by delivering excellent results for clients and our team
  • Kitchen or interior design experience of 2 years is desired.
  • Experience with CAD software (Winner, Cabinet Vision, SketchUp or similar) is advantageous.
