Job summary

Summerset Retirement Villages – Whanganui village is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, from food preparation to plating and kitchen cleanliness. You’ll help the chefs deliver nutritious meals to residents, and will be appreciated for behind-the-scenes contributions.

Your shifts are 4 days on, 2 days off (2xAM shifts/2xPM shifts). Prior hospitality experience and a can-do attitude, good communication, stamina and the ability to work both independently and with a

Qualifications

• Previous work experience ideally within hospitality.
• Friendly, can-do attitude and great communication skills.
• Good physical stamina.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Helping with plating and presentation of meals.
• Operating dishwashers and ensuring all kitchenware is properly sanitised.
• Keeping kitchen areas clean, organised, and compliant.
• Helping to receive, unpack and store deliveries, including stock rotation.
