Job summary

Arvida in Christchurch, New Zealand, invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly kitchen team. You will deliver efficient food service to residents, assist with meal preparation, and help dishwash and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment on a fixed roster.

Hours are 1:30pm–6:30pm, with shifts across the week including weekends. You should have experience in a commercial kitchen, be flexible to pick up extra shifts, and maintain high hygiene standards in a busy setting.

We're looking for a friendly and flexible assistant to join our fantastic Kitchen team.

The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for delivering efficient food service to our residents and providing a high level of customer service.

You will support the Head Chef / Food Service Manager through kitchen and meal preparation including assembling and preparing ingredients, baking, cooking, toasting, and heating food items and dishing dinner as well as dishwashing. You will also be responsible for keeping the kitchen and scullery areas clean, tidy, and safe.
