Job summary

Arvida is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team in New Plymouth. The role involves delivering efficient food service to residents, assisting with meal preparation, and ensuring the kitchen and scullery are clean, hygienic, and safe.

You'll work with the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager, on a fixed roster, starting with Week one: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00–14:00. Candidates should have commercial kitchen experience and be proactive, with a wellness-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment.
• High hygiene standards and strong health and safety awareness.
• Able to work closely with colleagues and take initiative.
• Ability to work closely with and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver efficient food service to residents.
• Assist with meal preparation and ingredient handling.
• Keep kitchen and scullery clean, tidy and safe.

We're looking for a friendly and flexible assistant to join our fantastic Kitchen team.

The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for delivering efficient food service to our residents and providing a high level of customer service.

You will support the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager through kitchen and meal preparation including assembling and preparing ingredients, baking, cooking, toasting, and heating food items. You will also be responsible for keeping the kitchen and scullery areas clean, tidy, and safe.

Week one roster: Weds, Thurs, Friday 1000am - 1400pm
