The ideal candidate will be approachable, reliable, and passionate about supporting whānau on their journey toward recovery and wellbeing in a kaupapa Māori organisation.

Job description

As a Kaitūruki, you’ll provide compassionate, strengths-based support to people experiencing mental health challenges, helping them build confidence, connection and wellbeing. We’re looking for someone who is approachable, reliable and passionate about supporting whānau on their journey.

To support/Tautoko tangata whai ora in their recovery and wellness journey using the values of Tikanga Māori, whānau ora and the skills and knowledge of current mental health support practice.

Based in beautiful Whanganui Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation who offers a range of health and wellbeing services for whānau in the Whanganui region and surrounding districts.

Waiora Hinengaro provide mental health & addiction services to support tāngata whai ora in their journey back to health and wellbeing, which is also underpinned in the belief that people can find their own strengths to live the life the way they want, utilising whānau as key contributors.

Waiora Hinengaro have a number of support services that support a full spectrum of tāngata whai ora such as:

  • Te Whare Mahana
  • Whakahaumanu Mana Tane
  • Day Activities
