Job summary

Te Oranganui Whanganui is seeking a Kaitūruki to champion a whānau-centred approach, working with whānau to improve access to ACC services and understanding of entitlements. You will collaborate with ACC and other providers across the rohe to support claims and navigate additional supports as needed.

The role focuses on tino rangatiratanga and enabling mana motuhake for whānau throughout their journey, contributing to healing and empowerment through kaupapa Māori practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with whānau to support ACC claims and entitlements.
• Strong communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to upholding mana and aspirations of whānau through Whānau Ora principles.

Responsibilities

About Us: Based in beautiful Whanganui Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation who offers a range of health and wellbeing services for whānau in the Whanganui region and surrounding districts.Te Waipuna Health is the General Practice arm with an enrolled population of 5,300 spread across two Practices. As a low-cost access health centre, we offer a newly refurbished Practice in a supportive and flexible environment.

About The Role: In this role, you will champion a whānau-centred approach, working closely with whānau to improve their access to ACC services while enhancing their understanding of ACC entitlements, systems, and processes to support positive outcomes.A key focus will be fostering tino rangatiratanga and empowering whānau to their own mana motuhake throughout their journey. You will collaborate with whānau, ACC, and service providers across our rohe to assist in resolving and supporting ACC claims.Additionally, you will help navigate access to other necessary supports as required. To thrive in this role, you will:

• Be experienced in working with whānau to support those on ACC.
• Have strong communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrate a commitment to upholding the mana and aspirations of whānau through Whānau Ora principles.
