Job summary

The University of Auckland seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Finance Business Partner on a fixed-term basis through 31 December 2027. You will support business partnering, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis within a large, complex organisation.

Key responsibilities include partnering with the Faculty, consolidated financial services, and development of finance strategies. The role offers opportunities to grow stakeholder engagement and business partnering capabilities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce or related discipline.
• Experience with management accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret and communicate financial information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP or Oracle desirable.

Responsibilities

• Business Partnering – support the team in developing relationships across the Faculty to understand needs and manage expectations.
• Operational Activities – provide consolidated financial services for the Faculty including BI, financial services and administration.
• Financial Strategy, Planning and Performance – assist in developing finance strategies that align with University aims.
• Culture, capability, development and training – help build a high-performing finance function.
