Job summary

The University of Auckland is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Finance Business Partner on a fixed-term basis through to 31 December 2027. You will support financial analysis, reporting, budgeting and forecasting to drive informed decision-making.

You will work with Finance Business Partners and stakeholders across the Faculty, gaining exposure to diverse projects and activities while developing business partnering capabilities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline (or working towards one).
• Strong grounding in management accounting principles and best practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills; Power BI experience is advantageous.
• Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP or Oracle is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Business Partnering – support the team in building relationships with Faculty to understand and manage customer needs.
• Consolidated financial services for the Faculty including BI, financial services and administration.
• Support the development of Finance strategies and performance frameworks.
• Assist FBPs in creating a high-performing finance function through collaboration with staff and stakeholders.
