Job summary

Protec Fire and Security Group, a Bosch Company, is expanding its Nelson Head Office and seeks a motivated Junior Engineer to support manufacturing line ramp-ups, transfers, and industrialisation projects.

You will work closely with the Project Lead, gaining hands-on experience in lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement while collaborating with Quality, Logistics and Purchasing teams to ensure smooth execution on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or equivalent.
• Strong foundation in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Experience with planning, coordinating, and supporting manufacturing line transfers or ramp-ups.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Lead in planning, coordinating, and executing the transfer and industrialization of manufacturing lines.
• Support setup, commissioning, and ramp-up of new production lines.
• Contribute to line design and waste reduction using Lean Production principles (5S, lean line design).
• Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and project reports.
• Coordinate with Quality, Logistics, and Purchasing to ensure smooth execution.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to solve technical issues and drive improvements on the shop floor.
