Job summary

Victoria Food Services in Christchurch is seeking a Junior Chef to join our kitchen team. You will work hands-on across daily catering operations and events, with full training and close guidance from our Executive Chef.

This is an entry-level role designed for someone who has recently completed catering college or is starting a career in catering. You will learn canapés, baking, and platters, while supporting the team and maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation.

Working alongside our Executive Chef, you'll receive full training while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of food preparation and catering techniques. Every day brings something different, making this an ideal role to develop your skills.

This role involves early starts, with a 5:00 am start time, so it's best suited to early birds! The position is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work when required. You'll typically work around 30-40 hours per week, with the opportunity for 40+ hours during our busy lead-up to Christmas.

About You

Previous kitchen or catering experience is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be provided.
