Job summary

Jora New Zealand in Te Anau, Southland, is seeking an experienced Cafe Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time permanent basis. Immediate start available. The role involves the day-to-day running of the kitchen, food safety, stock control, and menu development including cabinet foods.

You’ll work weekends and rotating shifts with another chef. Ideal candidates will be passionate about great brunch and baking, reliable, able to multi-task under pressure, and committed to high hygiene

Qualifications

• Experience as a cafe chef with a focus on brunch and baking.
• Ability to manage kitchen operations and maintain hygiene standards.
• Proven track record in stock control and menu development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Ensure food safety compliance and health, safety & hygiene standards.
• Develop and rotate menu items, including cabinet foods.
• Monitor kitchen productivity and stock rotation.
• Work weekends and with a second chef on a rotating roster.

We are seeking of an experienced and enthusiastic Cafe Chef to join our kitchen team! We are open 7 days a week for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Hours of work
This is a permanent role with Minimum 30 hours and maximum 48 hours per week.
Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will need to be able to work evening shifts and weekends.

• A good knowledge of all areas of the kitchen including cooking, baking, food prep and dietary requirements. You will be well organised, have excellent time keeping skills and the ability to multi-task. You must be clean and tidy in both your person and work station.
