Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU in Otago, New Zealand, seeks an experienced Joinery Designer/Detailer for a full-time, permanent role. You will design, detail, and coordinate bespoke joinery projects from concept to production, collaborating with clients, architects, designers, builders and the production team.

You will read architectural drawings, prepare detailed joinery drawings with Microvellum, generate cutting lists, and ensure on-time delivery with high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Joinery or Cabinet Making or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant joinery experience.
• Experience with bespoke joinery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret architectural drawings and technical documentation.
• Prepare detailed joinery drawings using Microvellum software.
• Generate workshop drawings, cutting lists, and material reports.
• Coordinate projects from design through to manufacturing.
• Liaise with clients, architects, designers, builders, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress and resolve design or production issues.
• Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines.
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.
• Communicate effectively with management and production teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and efficient workflow processes.
