Job summary

Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) is looking for an Intermediate Developer in the Whakatau team. You will apply software engineering, analysis and testing skills to build, maintain and support secure technology solutions.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers to contribute to APIs, integrations, data pipelines and the credit decisioning platform, taking ownership of well-defined technical work while growing your engineering knowledge.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot APIs.
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs and system integrations.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and data pipelines.
• Experience writing unit tests and automated tests with common frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Java and Spring Boot APIs and system integrations.
• Translate well-defined business and technical requirements into reliable software solutions.
• Support the credit decisioning platform, including troubleshooting incidents and resolving issues.
• Contribute to platform upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and overall system health.
• Create and maintain automated tests, technical documentation, and operational support information.
