Job summary

Huawei International Pte Ltd in Otago, New Zealand, seeks an experienced IT Operations and Asset Management professional to support desktop and office IT needs and manage the lifecycle of company assets.

You will coordinate procurement, asset records, and vendor relations, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting while leveraging Microsoft 365 and Windows environments to enable efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, or related field.
  • 2–5 years in IT Operations, Desktop Support, Office Administration, or Asset Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.
  • Experience with ERP, procurement, or asset management systems.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain laptops, desktops, OS, and office software.
  • Support IT infrastructure facilities, including server rooms and cabling.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve helpdesk efficiency and reporting.
  • Manage full lifecycle of office assets: procurement, registration, allocation, transfer, disposition.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and meeting room assets.
  • Conduct asset inventories and reconcile discrepancies across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with asset policies and internal controls.
  • Prepare asset reports for audits and management reviews.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and maintenance of laptops/desktops, operating systems, and office software applications.

  • Skilled in supporting IT infrastructure facilities, such as server room operations, structured cabling systems, UPS, door access control/CCTV systems, air conditioning, etc.

  • Have awareness of AI-enabled office automation and the ability to leverage AI tools to improve the efficiency of helpdesk support, knowledge base maintenance, data organization, and report generation.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of company administrative assets, including procurement, registration, allocation, transfer, maintenance, inventory verification, and disposal.

  • Maintain accurate records of office equipment, furniture, electronic devices, meeting room equipment, and other fixed assets.

  • Conduct regular asset inventories, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and coordinate asset allocation and tracking across departments.

  • Ensure compliance with company asset management policies and internal control procedures.

  • Prepare asset reports and supporting documentation for audits and management review.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years of experience in IT Operations, Desktop Support, Office Administration, Procurement, Asset Management, or related functions.

  • Hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.

  • Experience with ERP, procurement, or asset management systems is an advantage.

  • Experience in coordinating with vendors for IT services, procurement, maintenance, and related activities.

  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Good negotiation skills and ability to coordinate effectively with vendors.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced and dynamic work environment.

  • Self‑motivated with a high level of accountability and professionalism.
