Job summary

Marlborough District Council – Picton, South Island, is seeking an adaptable Team Leader to oversee the Picton team and support both Blenheim and Picton sites with day-to-day operations and service delivery. You will lead a strong team, coordinate rosters and training, ensure safe, high-quality visitor experiences, and work with the Destination Management Manager on plans, budgets and targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and leadership
• Passion for Marlborough
• Previous travel experience
• Sales or selling skills experience
• Eligible New Zealand working rights
• Flexibility to undertake various tasks
• Positive attitude, and (ideally) a good sense of humour
• Initiative, self-motivation and the ability to work well under pressure
• Availability to work over Christmas/ New Year and weekends (to support the team with peak visitor numbers)

Responsibilities

• Strengthening a strong team culture, leadership and performance
• Co-ordinating rosters, training and quality standards
• Managing day to day isite operations
• Supporting the Destination Management Manager on annual business plans, sales targets, marketing, administration support and budgets
• Adhering to health and safety guidelines and maintaining a safe working environment
