Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children in Masterton invites a committed leader to manage the Masterton site, providing strong leadership and delivering high-quality child protection services to tamariki, rangatahi and whānau. This role reports to the Regional Commissioner and acts as a key connector across our business.

You will champion mana tamaiti, whakapapa and whānaungātanga, build partnerships with iwi/Māori partners, oversee planning, budgeting, HR and safety, and guide a team of around 40

Qualifications

• Experience leading a large team in social services.
• Strong understanding of Te Ao Māori and Pacific frameworks.
• Ability to engage with iwi/Māori partners and multi-agency teams.
• Strong financial planning, budgeting and risk governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Masterton site and deliver high-quality child protection services.
• Model mana tamaiti, whakapapa and whānaungātanga.
• Collaborate with iwi/Māori partners and multi-agency teams.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, HR and health and safety responsibilities.
• Report to the Regional Commissioner and drive strategic outcomes.
